Diamond Platnumz lost billions of Tanzanian shillings after a failed helicopter and private jet deal. The Tanzanian music star shared how the costly investment turned into a major financial loss and changed the way he approaches business, investments, and faith.
The singer said the experience altered how he does business. He also said it brought him closer to God.
Diamond Details the Deal
In a recent interview, Diamond said he was in search of a helicopter and a private jet for his ever-growing music business. To him, the aircraft would facilitate international travel. He also expected them to reduce the cost of charter flights and save him time.
How the Deal Unraveled
Diamond said he transferred a massive sum of money after placing his trust in the people behind the deal. He discovered later that they had scammed him.
Some reports estimate the total loss at around TZS 4 billion. However, officials have yet to confirm the exact amount.
The singer said the loss stunned him. He said he earned his wealth from music, concert tours, endorsements, and business investments. Nevertheless, he begat himself for a simple scam.
The affair also altered his personal life, Diamond noted.

«”It made me realise that wealth is not a guarantee for safety. I realised I had to put my faith in God.”
East African fans praised him for being honest. Others said investors should investigate every deal before sending money.
Police Report
Diamond said he filed the case with the authorities in Tanzania. But public documents fail to name the police station, interviewer and the officials involved. Those are unverified.
Still on the Move
Despite losing everything, Diamond said he still wants to own a private aircraft in the near future. “They help artists who travel a lot for concerts and business,” he said.
Currently, he rents a plane to fit his needs each time. “I ask a lot of questions before I pay for everything,” he added.
Diamond Says
East African fans are encouraging Diamond for being transparent. “It shows that nobody is immune to fraud,” many said.
Financial advisers also advise investors to verify every major deal before they take any action. They say it’s good to seek advice from legal and financial experts before you send a large amount.
Diamond said his experience exemplifies the need to stay wary and ask proper questions to safeguard your investments.
